Presentation Workflow: Mind Maps to Google Slides

My presentation inspiration often begins as visual brainstorming captured in iThoughts — a favorite iOS mind mapping app.

Here’s a simple workflow for transforming these maps into Google Slides.

STEP 2

Create a mindmap in iThoughts for help see the website.

STEP 3

Use the iThoughts sharing capability to export the mind map into Google Slides as a PowerPoint (.pptx) presentation.

  • Tap the export icon (NOTE: you may need to scroll through the action icons to access the export option)
  • Select Open in Another App
  • Select MS Powerpoint (.pptx) format
  • Tap Import with Slides button

STEP 4

In the Google Slides app, locate and open the newly created PowerPoint (.pptx) presentation.

Next…

  • Tap the dots icon in the top right
  • Tap the question mark icon next to Office Compatibility Mode.
  • Tap the Save as Google Slides button to convert the PowerPoint presentation to the Google Slides format.

STEP 5

Use the Google Slides app or the Google Slides web interface to edit, format, share & present the slides.
